Great effort Melissa Tapper, following a 3-0 loss to Fan Lai of China in the group stages of the London Paralympic Games match; Melissa turned their following match around winning the first two sets in their Bronze medal playoff match winning 11-6 & 11-9 taking a flying start leading 2-0. However the start of the Third & Fourth sets had the Chinese player mount insurmountable leads eventually bringing the match to a Fifth and final set which was point for point till the change of ends at 5-4 Fan Lai's way. The change of ends had the Chinese player move to a 10-6 lead and finally defeating Melissa 11-6 (3-2).
Congratulations to Melissa Tapper who participated in her first Paralympic Games, competing under such pressure and performing so well in an inspiration to all.
